“The best bosses—superbosses—must foster a culture of innovation, encourage smart risk taking, remove obstacles, and drive change. They demand world-class performance and empower their teams to achieve it. Superbosses gives leaders a playbook to bring out the best in their people.” Jeff Immelt, chairman and CEO, GE, commenting on Sydney Finkelstein’s best-selling 2016 book ‘Superbosses’.

Sydney Finkelstein, the Steven Roth Professor of Management at Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College, based his influential book on 10 years of research and interviews with leaders across a wide variety of organizations.

After doing many book talks, executive workshops, webinars, podcasts, and interviews, Finkelstein found this question came up more often than any other: "I get it, but how do you scale your superboss ideas to an entire organization (and not just a few executives)?”

In response, he agreed this is the right question, and for many months has been working on the solution – the development of a new set of teaching and learning tools, exercises, case studies, and assessments to be delivered via a digital learning platform that is the best way to bring the superboss playbook into an entire organization or unit.

  • Apply ‘check the box’ thinking to fostering innovation, and your people will have a much harder time thinking ‘out of the box’.
  • Cultivating micro-creativity is an investment in your team. When important businesses challenges arise, your investment will pay off as team members come through with the big ideas.
