Last year saw climate change move to the top of the political agenda. For over a decade the scientific evidence has been indisputable, but a year of extreme weather around the world, culminating in typhoons disrupting the Rugby World Cup in Japan and unprecedented wildfires in Australia, has brought a new sense of crisis.
With greenhouse gas emissions continuing to rise, nations need to significantly step-up the actions they are taking to fulfil the SDG pledges made at the 2015 Paris Agreement. Central to this will be the actions taken by the business community. In order to create a world where no one is left behind, it is absolutely necessary for businesses, governments and civil society to work together. This course will address this and also show what individuals can do to contribute to society’s most pressing issues.
